You are the Christ

“You are the Christ”
Your name defines the timelines
Divine eponym
Before Abraham, You were
Yet You know me by my name

written in response to Silver Threading’s Word of the Week:

Eponym‘ is a noun: A person, real or imaginary, from whom something, as a tribe, nation, or place, takes or is said to take its name.

He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 16:15-17 (ESV)
