Out of Death, Abundant Life

Wheat sheafs die to self
Withering, their grain released
To give birth new crops
Kissing the earth’s dark base soil
To bless and burst forth new fruit

written in further response to today’s Daily Post daily prompt, and inspired by John 12:24 (ESV):
Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.”

Spirit’s Quest

RonovanWrites Weekly Haiku Challenge

No power of hell
Shall rein in the Spirit’s quest
To gift and seed fruit
Fire the imagination
Inspiring minds young and old

written as a second response to this week’s RonovanWrites Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge (#98 ‘Rein & Quest’) – obviously not a haiku, but think of it as a Take Two Tanka.
