Jacob’s Dream: Jacob’s Ladder
He saw a stairway
Its top reaching to heaven
Myriad angels
And above them the Lord God
Speaking into Jacob’s dream
“This land shall be yours;
Your descendants shall spread out,
To bless all the Earth;
I’m with and watch over you;
I promise not to leave you”
written following today’s daily prompt at The Daily Post, and inspired by Genesis 28:10-22 (NIV)
Multa Paucis #NaPoWriMo2016 #GloPoWriMo2016
The final challenge of National/Global Writing Month 2016 – to take a crack at translating a poem by a poet writing in that language, or to try a homophonic translation.
I’ve tried creating a tanka using Latin phrases (translation below). Multa paucis means, “saying much in a few words”.
Ab origine
Auxilio ab alto
A cruce salus
Ex une disce omnes
Amor vincit omnia
From the origin
By help from high
From the cross comes salvation
From one person, learn all people
Love conquers all
