Today, the National/Global Writing Month challenge asks us to write a poem that “includes a line that you’re afraid to write”. As always, comments are invited, will be moderated but please note that ‘approval’ may be in the interests of balance and free speech rather than endorsement.

No such thing as a Christian nation –
Why we reach out through ministry’n’mission
All God’s people join the Great Commission
Lots of fish out there still lost in the ocean

Go disciple all in ev’ry location
Not just a few from a narrow (s)election
S(elective) message before faithful translation
Church without love is an aberration

Power of His Spirit can never be rationed
Spiritually blind resist His inspiration
Luther and Calvin began a ‘Reformation’
Missed an opportunity for Transformation

Some still bondsmen to the human condition
Some held captive in a new tradition
Only ‘right’ if their interpretation
Come now Holy Spirit, power a revolution

Selah

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
– Matthew 28:18-20 (ESV)

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
– 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 (ESV)
