The Mirror

My mirror is dull and tarnished,
Cracked and warped beyond repair.
My reflection is so diminished –
Is that really me I see in there?

‘Use mine,’ says the Father,
‘It’s always shining, crystal clear.
See me smiling, over your shoulder?
See me wipe that welling tear?’

Anyone can use that mirror,
Not one spoiled by a world that lies.
Embed that truth, make it a pillar,
And smile right back at His smiling eyes.

“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
– 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV)

Stretch Out Each Moment

Stretch out each moment to make room for God,
Fill every second with more of His love,
Revealed in the stillness, and banishing darkness,
Be still, reach out, and welcome God in.

Invite His Spirit into your every minute,
Let Him guide each of your daily routines,
Revealing the will, and the ‘where’ of the Father;
Then by your actions may His glory be known.

Pray through the Son, and submit to the Father,
Accept by His grace life eternal with Him;
Bless those around you in each waking moment,
Day after day, until called home to Him.

Stretch up your hands and worship the Father,
Lift up your faces, feel his warmth sinking in,
Close tight your eyes, see his brilliance shining,
Lift up you hearts and let his love in.

Stretch open your mind and seek revelation,
Know well your God: Father, Spirit and Son.
Consume His Word, breathed out, written for you;
Fill every day as if ‘t’were your last one.

Shout to the Lord! Sing and make music!
Dance for the Lord – rejoice every step!
Give Him your whole life: every minute, each moment;
Meet Him, and love Him – He loves you much more.
